One of the best things to do in New Orleans is experience the music of the city, and the best thing about this is that it's right there in front of you on the street and free! The music of New Orleans can be enjoyed just about everywhere at just about anytime of the year with many of the best jazz bars having no cover charge. Even the venues that do charge leave their doors open so you can enjoy the music from the streets passing by. You can enjoy a drink along Bourbon Street and take in all this lively strip has to offer.
Golf
Even if you only came to New Orleans to gamble your money and listen to the famous music, you'll surely need some time to stretch your legs and take in a round of golf at one of the golf courses and country clubs dotted within the city limits. Check out the Uptown golf course in Audubon Park. Go on, do something healthy on your trip and try and hit a low score!
Shopping
Everyone on holiday enjoys a bit of shopping and in New Orleans you are spoiled for choice. The city has some wonderful outdoor markets, art festivals and street marts for you to enjoy. Even if you don't buy anything you'll still enjoy your time here soaking up the atmosphere. Many of these have been going on since the 1800s so you will be immersed in New Orleans history. You'll find some great food stalls and will be able to sample some excellent local cuisine while listening to that famous New Orleans jazz music!
